what are the benefits of lash extensions?

Xtreme Lash extensions add length + volume and create the appearance of a brighter, more open and rested eye. Hello, instant rejuvenation! They look and feel completely real because Xtreme Lash is an exact replica of an eyelash and even weighs about as much as a natural lash.

how do you apply lash extensions?

Lash extensions are applied one at a time to your own natural eyelashes by a certified Xtreme Lash artist. We use specialized tools to separate and isolate a single individual natural eyelashes and apply a single synthetic lash extension.

are the lashes one-size-fits-all?

No way! We customize a design that best suites you. There are a variety of thicknesses, lengths and curvatures to be able to achieve the look you desire. We’ll determine the thickness of the Xtreme Lash extension by the health and thickness of your natural lashes, as well as personal preference.

can I wash my face after the application?

Although the adhesive will be set within just a few seconds, it does take 3 hours to fully cure and during that time it cannot come into contact with any moisture. Avoid washing your face, working out, steam and showers. If you typically wear contacts, we recommend removing them before the service and bringing your glasses to wear for the next 3 hours. After 3 hours- you’re good to go! There’s no need to avoid water or moisture.

will I need to change my skincare routine?

Only if you’re currently using products that contain oil. Oil will break down the adhesive on the lash extensions and lead to faster fall out. Take a look at the ingredients in your makeup remover, cleansers and eye creams/serums. If you need to make a switch, we do sell Xtreme Lash makeup remover and oil-free facial cleanser that’s specifically formulated to work with the Xtreme Lash extensions. We got you, boo. 😉

will I still need to wear mascara? 

Ya won’t need it! 

If you would like to wear it, make sure you only use the Xtreme Lash Mascara. It was specially formulated to work with the lash extensions and not break down the adhesive. You can pick it up at any of our locations where we offer the service. Incompatible mascaras may cause the eyelash extensions to fall out faster.

what about eyeliner? 

Xtreme Lashes are thicker at the base and taper to a fine point which creates the same effect as eyeliner.

should I curl my lashes with extensions?

Nope- Lash extensions have a curved design that makings curling your lashes unnecessary. Plus, any crimping or friction could weaken of the adhesive bond and lead to faster lash extension fall out.

how long do xtreme lashes last?

Xtreme Lash extensions will remain in place until your natural lash falls out. Natural eyelashes grow in and fall out in cycles every 60-90 days. People typically shed 1-5 natural lashes each day, depending on your individual growth cycle. With the extensions, lash fall out will be more noticeable because they are longer and darker than natural lashes. This is totally normal.  With proper care and maintenance, Relashes (a touch up) are typically only needed once every 2-3 weeks to replace the lashes that have shed.

how long will my initial appointment take?

A full set of lashes will take 2-2.5 hours. You’ll lay down for the entire appointment with your legs elevated and head supported by a memory foam pillow. Most guests find the entire service very relaxing and typically fall asleep!

how often will I come in after my full set is applied?

For best results, you’ll need to return every 2-3 weeks and your appointment will typically take 1 hour. If you’re consistent with your Relash schedule, then you will only ever have to come back for a fill.

Anything past that time frame may result in an Advanced Relash service or possibly another full set.

do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?

No way! Xtreme Lash Stylists are extensively trained on proper lash application and only apply extensions to healthy, suitable, natural lashes that are able to withstand the lash extension. There is a reason the service takes the amount of time it does and that is so we can be sure each lash is applied properly to maintain natural eyelash health. 😘

If you pick or pull at your lashes at home, then lash damage could occur. We would never recommend taking your lashes off at home. If you don’t want to wait for your lashes to naturally fall out, we’d highly recommend a lash removal service.

who is the best candidate for lash extensions?

Xtreme Lashes are for anyone wanting eyelashes that are longer, fuller and darker. They are ideal for everyday wear and special occasions.

That being said, because we apply Xtreme Lash extensions to existing natural lashes, you must have some natural lashes to receive the service. We cannot apply Xtreme Lashes if you have alopecia, are undergoing chemotherapy or if you suffer from Trichotillomania.

what is tinting?

Eyelash and eyebrow tinting are services that involve coloring your natural lashes and brow hair with a special dye.

how are brows and lashes tinted?

Your esthetician applies the color directly to your lashes + brows and leaves the color to process anywhere from 5-15 minutes- the time for brows is typically shorter than for lashes.

For lash tinting, we’ll apply anti-aging under eye patches to keep the color from transferring to your skin. The service is a piece of cake. All you have to do is lay down, relax and keep your eyes closed!

what are the benefits?

This quick and easy service gives you darker and fuller looking lashes. The entire lash gets tinted (including the ends which are the finest + lightest part of your lashes) which gives the appearance of longer lashes.

how long does an eyelash and eyebrow tint last?

3-6 weeks. Every guest is a bit different.

can I choose my lash + brow colors?

Consulting with your esthetician and communicating what you hope to see with the service will help you get just the color you’re looking for. We provide custom colors for every guest, but we do only tint with natural colors.

can you wear mascara with a lash tint?

Of course! Mascara has no effect on the tint. You’re more than welcome to use it, but you most likely won’t even think it’s necessary!

who is the best candidate for tinting?

Lighter hair colors (blonde, red, light + medium brown) work the best and get the most dramatic change.

Guests that have lost a little volume or color with aging could see great benefits, too.

is tinting safe?

When applied correctly by a trained, licensed professional, the service is very safe. Every PENZONE esthetician is trained on proper safety, care + regulations.

Also, the type of dye we use is specifically formulated to be that close to the eye. We promise- you’re in good hands!

are there side effects?

During a lash tint, there is a chance that your eyes will burn or that the skin near the lashes will become a bit irritated during the short service time.

For brows, there may be a slight tingling, but it’s very rare. There also may be a slight dye stain on the skin, but it will fade after 1-2 days.

is there any reason I should avoid tinting?

We do ask that you don’t come in with an eye infection or other condition at the time of your service. Once it’s cleared up, we’re happy to see you! If you have extremely sensitive skin or frequent eye problems, it may be best to avoid the lash tint.

While we don’t use hair dye for tinting, we do ask that you avoid the service if you’ve had an allergic reaction to hair dye in the past.

It’s best to consult with your esthetician if you have any doubts that you’ll be a good candidate for the service.

if I already have long lashes should I tint instead of getting extensions?

Lash tinting is less maintenance than lash extensions, but it’s also a less dramatic difference. If you feel like your lashes have good length, volume or curl then lash tint would be a great alternative to extensions!

what’s the price of tinting?

Eyebrow tints start at $26 and eyelash tints start at $35.

what’s the difference between tinting and microblading?

You can read everything you’ve ever wanted to know about microblading, right here! The short answer though– A tint only tints hair that already exists. Microblading is a tattoo-like process where we deposit pigment in hair-like strokes. Microblading is perfect if you have sparse areas or overly plucked eyebrows that you want to appear fuller.
