Alleviate physical + emotional symptoms with massage.

The PENZONE Salons + Spas have been long-time supporters of many organizations that support oncology patients — Komen Columbus Race for the Cure, Pelotonia, A Kid Again, Look Good Feel Better, Flashes of Hope, and a few others. With Race for the Cure coming up this weekend, I felt it was the perfect time to tell you about an actual service we offer to those undergoing cancer treatment — massage!

Simply put, oncology massage is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with complications of cancer and cancer treatment. Myself, along with a few other Licensed Massage Professionals here have taken special training to be able to provide this service.

During the massage service, we focus on alleviating both the physical and emotional symptoms a patient is undergoing. Whether a patient is in treatment, recovery or survivorship, massage provides so many benefits, above and beyond feeling great. Massage can lower stress and anxiety, a side effect that most with cancer will endure. Massage may also help break up scar tissue from surgery and helps alleviate sore muscles due to surgery positioning or exercising. Most importantly, massage can help rebuild strength.

Studies show Aromatherapy enhances the effects of the massage, improving physical and psychological symptoms, as well as overall quality of life. We offer an amazing Aromatherapy Massage — this is definitely something to consider!

If you or someone you know is undergoing this journey, please know, that massage is here for you (and I am too!).

To schedule your visit with me, pick any massage service on our service menu and we’ll customize it to your needs and specifications.

And, for those of you attending Race for the Cure this weekend, we’ll see you down there! We’ll be in the lineup of exhibitors and also will have special surprise and delights in the SurvivorPalooza tent! Take care, all!
