To achieve the best results from skin care products, you have to know how to use them. I'm happy to share the play-by-play so YOU can get the most from this amazing line!

Eminence Organic Skin Care. This AMAZING line of products was introduced to our salons a year ago and we’re still as in love as we were the day we met them. The products are organic. Their aroma is delightful and the results … well, they speak for themselves.

We’ve heard through the grapevine that some folks are still unsure of exactly how to use this amazing line of products. Fear not – let’s take this step by step!

First, cleanser and/or makeup remover. If you’re a long-wearing makeup kind of person, a precleanse is a must. Try Rice Milk 3 in 1 Cleansing Water on a cotton pad to remove foundation and eye makeup.

Use your cleanser with A LOT of water. Eminence products are very concentrated. A little goes a long way!

We had the chance to speak with Boldijarre Koronczay, the man…the myth…the legend…aka – the President of Éminence Organic Skin Care, who gave us a tip on how to achieve that extra clean feeling. He says, [add] “a few shakes of Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant into your Stone Crop Gel Wash for an instant three-in-one cleansing, exfoliating and brightening treatment.” Just be sure to keep it to 3 times a week or less.

Second, toniques. These sprays are far from fancy water. “Toniques” are toners or mists packed with effective ingredients to add immediate hydration to the skin and enhance the benefits of other products. Toniques help to accelerate the results of the yummy-goodness you’re putting on your face. Fun-fact #2 from Boldijarre, “Keep your Stone Crop Hydrating Mist in the fridge during summer days for a refreshing way to tighten pores and “wake up” the skin.” Sounds delightful, right?

Next up, serums. Serums come in a small bottle, but don’t let that fool you. These products are mighty! Serums go directly on clean skin – during the day OR night (OR both!). Serums and are meant to intensively treat the skin. A few of my faves:

  1. Bamboo Firming Fluid is a lightly hydrating serum that utilizes a natural form of retinol. This product is great for any skin type but especially good for dry or sensitive skin.
  2. Citrus & Kale Potent C+E Serum is a great product for oily skin. It feels like water going on, but contains seriously amazing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients.
  3. Another tip from the pro: To ensure you’re applying your serum correctly, Boldijarre said, “place 3-4 drops of the oil in your palm and gently rub hands together to warm the oil without ‘bruising’ it.” “Then, press the oil into the skin with an open palm.” And there you have it!

Not done yet…moisturizers. Let’s face it, we all know what moisturizers do. That being true, why does it matter which one you use? And why do I care about SPF in the winter? One word- protection.

“SPF will guard your skin against all signs of aging including dehydration, redness, loss of elasticity and hyperpigmentation,” Boldijarre told us.

Every type of skin needs hydration (which protects the delicate tissues from the elements) as well as protection from the sun. Approximately 80% of UV rays actually pass through the cloud cover.

So whether you’re spending Spring Break in Ft. Meyers or Westerville, YOU NEED SUNSCREEN.

Oilier skin requires a thinner, lighter type of moisturizer. Try Red Current Protective Moisturizer SPF 30. It has a lovely whipped quality and sinks right into the skin without leaving a telltale “sunscreeny” residue. Dry or more mature skin types require a richer, emollient product. Tropical Vanilla Day Cream SPF 32 is a perfect balance of effective protection and flawless hydration. Bonus: it smells like a Pina Colada! Cheers to that!
