Get the skinny on chemical peels + learn about the new glycolic peel on our menu!

Simply put, a chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin. Chemical peels remove the outermost layers of the skin. The regenerated skin is smoother, brighter and less wrinkled than the old skin.

Are those results sounding good to you? Here’s more of the low down on chemical peels and why you should TOTALLY have one.

Back in the 90’s a chemical peel meant a beet red, irritated face. Your skin would peel like a snake, leading to days of downtime where you had to hide out and wait until you looked less scary. Add in the hefty price tag of $500 or more and they became out of reach for nearly everyone. Yes, they worked, but you’d have to make serious plans to work it into your schedule and wallet. No bueno. 👎

Fast forward to today and voila! Those smart science people have refined the formulations and delivery systems to make modern chemical peels that can be done after work on Friday with great skin on Saturday night. Muy beuno! 👍

Modern chemical peels are fully customizable. Need help with acne? We got you. Daughter getting married and those wrinkles gotta go? No problem. Even guests with rosacea can have a chemical peel! New peels can be mixed with other skin care products or the application technique can be altered to buffer the acid making the peel tolerable, nay pleasant, for nearly every skin concern.

A chemical peel will make your other skincare products and injectables work better. Dead skin piles up on the surface of the skin making it difficult for your serums and things to get where they need to go. It’s akin to taking a shower with your clothes on. Peels exfoliate that dead skin, giving way for all those fabulous ingredients to penetrate more deeply. Those injectables, Botox and fillers, only look as good as the skin on top. Smoothing the texture and tone of the skin will elevate the results of those procedures.

Dark spots and acne scars are SIGNIFICANTLY reduced with chemical peels. Yes that’s right, when combined with consistent home care and a high quality sunscreen, a chemical peel can make a huge difference in just a few treatments. Modern peels can be done in a series, as often as weekly, to reduce pigmentation or scars without looking like your face just got peeled off.

Current peels have zero downtime. Really!? It’s true, you can have a pleasant service with no tingling or burning. Leave the salon looking bright and shiny, then put on makeup for dinner that evening. Some guests experience a tiny bit of dryness around the nose & mouth, but not even as much as we all had from the Polar Vortex. Bottom line, peels don’t have to be scary. Done properly by a skincare professional, a chemical peel can be an amazing (and beautiful) experience.

You’ve just gone through the process of getting rid of damaged skin with a chemical peel. Avoid damaging the new, vulnerable skin coming through by protecting it with a layer of sunscreen anytime exposure to the sun is possible. Whether sitting by a window or being outside, you need to protect your new skin. Be sure to choose a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Excitingly, the state of Ohio just loosened their regulations on the potency of peels that can be offered in spas. Lucky for us, this means we’ve added a peel to our menu that packs even more punch.
